Glass is easy to drill, and the thicker it is, the easier it is because it doesn't crack with the slightest move.
The only tanks I've drilled that cracked with thin glass. Half inch or over were almost foolproof..
If you have riverine fish you may want to drill overflows on one end, and have returns on the other.. But not a necessity.

I like to use a block of 3/4" plywood for a guide and a bulkhead gasket under it to help hold water. Lay a towel under so the slug doesn't chip the panel below. Glass is very easy to drill, just take your time and let the drill do the work.

I agree. I drilled my 220 with about 5/8" glass and it went very well. It took a while to get 5 holes in it but I got them all done.
