Oscar and Jaguar cichlid issues

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you get rid of the oscar and put the jag in with the jd it would give you a bit more time to come up with a bigger tank. Plus oscars are a bioload nightmare!

See this is why I try not to tell anyone the tank size. Because they go have a spazz attack. Did you read when I said the O is about 2 in and the jag is about 3 in? Because that sounds pretty small.

this is the info people need if your going to ask for help. its no good hiding stuff because you may recieve bad info because they dont know all the facts.
you know your stock lists are badly executed, judging by your last post, yet you continued anyway and bought a jag, one of the most territorial and large species you can buy.

anyway, now you have calm for a while until you can get things sorted for the fish i suggest getting a divider on hand for the 55 just in case the JD and O dont get on, more a precaution. it will also be handy in future should you need to separate fish again.

i suggest rehoming your fish, getting the tanks you want such as the 125 you mentioned then go about stocking them. it is also good practice to decide what fish you like, research them thoroughly and make a list of preferences. you will then likely end up with appropriate stock for your tank(s).

good luck.

Guys trust me I have known my stock is horrible from many people no need to tell me again.

If your tank is smaller then 70 gallons, get rid of the jag or the oscar. If you want to keep both in peace, Id upgrade to a 150 gallon or so. If you have a small tank ( under 70 gallons ) I would get rid of both because both those fish need a 70 gallon to them selfs as a minimum tank size.

Just put the Jag in 55g and put O back in 10g Jag and O are very happy now. Of course the smaller Jag is challenging my much bigger JD to a dual haha.

your going to lose your fish because your no listening to the great advice given to you by some very knowledgeble people on here.

i also find it strange you think its funny that your jag "just went gangster on the JD". surely you had a clue that the jag would do the same in the already stocked 55.

I'm sure the Oscar is very happy in that huge tank... :screwy:

OP knows the answers to his own questions but there's this thing called denial.

In all fairness, I did the same thing in a 20L when I first started keeping tropicals decades ago, it was a bloodbath. If only I had a thread of people telling me it was a bad idea maybe a few extra fish would be alive today.

O is dead so pissing yourselves is no longer needed, btw I was not asking for your opinions on my stocking in the first place, if I was I would have made this thread for that exact purpose.
