Grammodes are sweet. I don't think they grow all that fast, maybe 1/4" a month or so...and to comment...a Jack Dempsey for LIFE is pushing the limits of that tank. it's a breeder tank so the dimensions would be friendly to it.
 
Dempsey do not grow vey fast like Oscars. It took 2 years for my Jack Dempsey to get 11 inches. As for it liveing in a 40 breeder for life, IMO a JD should be in aleast a 55 gallon.

I Could Upgrade Within Like 5 Months But my family ot patient so ima probably get an O and then upgrade in like 5 months BUT if i could FIND SOME GRAMMODES I WANT ONE!!!!:D:D
