oscar to small?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
goes along the lines when asking, folks say my water is crystal clear, crystal clear water has probably killed more fish than anything else in the aquarium. crystal clear water does equate to good water.
Hydrogen peroxide is clear, as can be ammonia... I wouldn't keep my fish in either of those lol

ok. bout 500g water changed I am good for the week. can sit on my arse this weekend.

Sulfuric acid can be clear, most fish can't live in it tho, u can also try collecting rainwater in tubs if u don't have acid rain problems in your area.

I had to do that for a while when our water supply got contaminated, it works but you can only catch so much of it.

every week, for years, I down sized a while ago, its important to keep in mind, the biggest contribute to ammonia is not fish poop, its the fishes respiration. much like our breathing.

I've done it when I had no money for more aquasafe,I had to use like 5 containers tho.
However it would be easier to use a real water catchment system.

The problem with API stress coat is its a sodium thiosulphate dechlor, so its ineffective against any water supply treated with chloramine(chlorine infused with ammonia)
I use the API Stess Coat and i'm almost positive it does chlorine and chloramines.......otherwise I would just let my water sit overnight in buckets so the chlorine could evaporate

You could be right, they may of changed their formula but Im fairly certain at one time they were using sodium thio. They do market their product as effective against chloramine
