i'm going with clown loaches, whats the big deal with them? they're bore me

I thought that they were interesting before I got a few, then I realized that they don't do too much.

1. african cichlids, kept em for like 2 months and they bored the hell out of me.
2. clown loaches, i just don't get it but haven't owned em so can't judge.
3. The biggest one for me, plecos. Not just your basic varieties but the fancy ones that cost hundreds of dollars. I just don't see how a moving crap machine is desirable in any way shape or form.

In addition to that, they sometimes decide to snack on the slime coat of other fishes resulting in bacterial infections and sometimes death for the fish(es) that were attacked.

IMO African = Poormans Saltwater setup.
If you want true color join the "Darkside"...

We all have our own reasons why we choose the fish we buy/own.
If we all had the same fish, it would get boring really quick.

After being in the hobby for some years i've seen some fads come and go just wondering what you all may have kept that was must have at the time but didnt live up to the hype. Can be species, set up or whatever

Definitely Homo sapien sapien, the "Monster Fish Keeper" who can't decide what to stock his/her tank with, the one who's in and out of the hobby.
