I got hit on the thumb once, by an adult henlii as I was packing it. I bled for a couple of days, and hurt a couple weeks. I didn't see a Doctor, it is fine, but didn't heal right for months. & years later if I accidentally knock that area of my thumb it hurts more than it should. I probably wouldn't see a doctor if this happens to me again, but if there was stinger or sheath left in the wound then 100% I would see a doc.

to add.
In the US, every time someone goes to the E.R or an M.D with this kind of injury it is ( supposed to be) reported ... "stung by venomous pet, stingray".... . Please try not to get tagged , not to 'raise red flags' to some bureaucrat without a cause, so that we can all continue to keep rays legally. I got tagged because of my own incompetence, its the same for everyone else that gets tagged in tank and computers make it too easy to collate that kind of data, big brother IS watching you!

You have got the right IDEA!!!!:headbang2

I think "hiding it" or "shaking it off" is a horrible idea. If you get stung, go get checked. If they are deemed dangerous, then it is what it is. To suggest someone avoid medical attention is, poorly thought out at best. Life is far more precious than any hobby, no matter how serious you take it. The day you put your hobby over your life, is the day you have gone too far. I bow to you wisdom DavidW, but I flat out disagree with telling someone not to seek medical attention for the reasons that you did.

You own a sting ray but not a digital camera?

I didn't say not to seek med attention, I said that his wound would let him know. caution is wise, but over reaction is pointless and expensive.
:) I have a tendency to want to avoid E.R's, as they are usually full of sick people :) it needs to be more than a hit that doesn't hurt , isn't bleeding and is healing. No wonder medical insurance is so expensive if you are going to waste their time with something relatively trivial like this. I also trim my own fingernails when needed

lmao I am still alive....I felt 5 min of stinging when it happened and the cut is doing fine! and sorry no pics dont have a camera!

Don't you sell fish?? How do you sell anything without a camera? I think that is hard to sell with out pics of your fish.
Borrow a friends camera!

Or did you never really get stung:bs:

Your sting ray will be okay, lol, stinging you is meant to be a defence, so it would be a pretty pointless defence if after stinging you and defending itself, that it'd die anyways, lol.
