no i haven't really looked at one for sale...
they seem really hard to find and ive heard they are expensive
how long could a few baby tats or scombs stay in a 55.
when they get too big it seems like they would be easy to sell

please correct me if i am wrong

they could live in there for quite awhile...how long depends on how big you consider "babies" They grow slow.

I also doubt you will be able to find babies as these fish are hard to come by. Its sort of a situation where you buy what ever fish you can find.

About negative 2 months. Get at least a 30 man ASAP. I have one in a 40 and I would never keep it in anything smaller.

BTW what does this have to do with this thread?
 
a baby payara or scomb could live in there for a long time but the oscar would kill it, plus boith the payara and the O will both outgrow the 55.
 
Like has already been said go look at the price of these fish. I guess you might physically not be able to fit a bigger tank in your room/house but if you can afford the price of a payara or similar you should be able to afford atleast a 100g for it.
 
you can fill the 55 with bucktooth tetras(exodons). don't you guys think that would qualify him for the MFK...jk...lol. if would be cool to watch them eat tho.
