Mine didn’t accept dead silversides, tried it without feeding him for 4 days. Refused to eat them though. Probably a stubburn walleye

What about earth worms? Maybe red wrigglers for fish this size?

Start hand feeding live at lights off,then later switch to dead,works for most fish.
They would probably take night crawlers, etc. Not the best food though, make a mess of the tank and not much nutrition. But a fun treat for sure.
I’ve had no issue with feeding them feeders, bloodworms, and leftover ice fishing bait which entailed wax worms. I’m going to try silver sides shortly. Feed them pretty heavily this weekend the perch look like they’re going to expolode.
I checked both walleye out and it seems only one of the two has the signs of the malnourished head. I do know when I received both they both had sunken stomachs. Both fish have seemed to recover from sunken stomachs and just working on fillings the ones head out. All fish have been eating like pigs and the walleye have not been picky. Only issue I am having now is an algae issue. I put some live plants in the tank a week and a half ago and they're doing okay but when I kept the lights off for a day to combat the algae and took a hit on the plants. Might pick more up today along with feeders.

I think people don’t keep walleye because it’s not uncommon at all for them to hit 3ft in length. Awesome tank and idea I’ll be following to watch the progress and to see if captive walleye don’t get as large as the wild. I was pondering a perch tank myself for a while I have a school of jumbos I put in my in laws pond.
