Feel free to lock this thread my intentions were not to bash the store i was a bit upset at how this one individual treats people at a certain store
the store in mayslanding is awesome!!!!!!!

First I don't think Petsmart should be generalized by employees... that's just retarted to flat out say that all Petsmarts are 'that way'...

OP, how do you feel about the whole situation after you got a response back from Petsmart? That seems to me to be pretty good customer service... and more so, if someone actually contacts you again...

Another thing, I know my smart people pretty well... and I just won't ask questions if I happen to get one of the tards... just point and say 'yeah that one' ...that's it... I'd still rather ask MFK for advice over any LFS personel...

I find that if I do my research beforehand then I run less risk of dealing with someone who doesn't know anything about what I'm trying to buy but I've found that the LFS has a more knowledgeable staff.

I also agree that Petsmart should refocus their training to better prepare their fish personnel or should give preference to potential employees for the fish dept that have experience (if they don't do so already).

glad to see that some people recognize the problem... i consistently have to deal with people who got bad advice from co-workers or other stores

I guess I'm pretty lucky with most of my petsmart experiences. The store by me has a few folks that don't know much, but they don't try to act like they do. There's one guy and one girl who actually know quite a bit about most of what they sell but once again they know the limits of their knowledge. I usually don't ask many questions when I go in there though. I spend time here, ask all the questions and then go to the store educated about my potential purchase. Plus, my iPhone is a great tool as I'm browsing the store as well. Punch it in the google bar and instantly I get the info I need.

I've bought most of my current fish from petsmart (except for my Uara, Nicaragua, Lima Shovelnose Cat, Cuban, Texas) and I have to say my Petsmart is not that bad. It's all young girls that work there, most do not know much but like someone else said they don't act like they do. I mostly go there these days for foods or filter media but I always end up browsing there tanks, which are seem to be kept up with well.

With that said, If someone is blatantly rude to you asking you ignorant questions that have no merit, they deserve to lose there job. Most of us adults have been there, worked through our cruddy youth jobs for some quick cash and/or build up your resume. If you don't like your job (join the club), either suck it up and do it well hoping to move up or find another job, it IS as simple as that. I personally think the kid should loose his job, maybe it will be a minor wake up call.

i find it hilarious that they wouldn't sell him a 33 cent ghost shrimp! what kind of business is that? rofl

Well, I've had different experiences good and bad with different Petsmart employees so I won't blame the sour apple that may ruin the batch.

But what I always love is their sales. Also they have some EBJD 1" frys for $9.98 "WOOHOO" so I picked up 4 of them.
