I'm seeing quite a bit of browning on the leaves, especially on the corkscrew val. Hopefully the plants are just still settling in and it is a waiting game from here.

I put in a drop checker at the same time that I put in the plants. Co2 is right in the mid-range.
I'm confused as to why you would be losing any plants. Are they planted too deep?? You need to bury and cover all of the roots~ then pull up until you just see the starts of the roots~ then fluff a little sand up around them to just barely cover them.

I planted them by digging a hole in the sand and then slowly adding sand while spreading out the roots. The tops of the roots are just barely covered with sand.

The planting method was just right.

Were the plants stressed from shipping and did they still look great 24 hours after planting?

Yes, they looked decent when i got them. The contortion val turned brown almost halfway down, but it seems as though it is making a comeback. It really the bolbitus that is dying and I'm starting to worry about the hairgrass as it is browning a bit.

some plants take longer then others to adjust to a new set up. its normal for plants to turn a bit brown or even die when their uprooted and put into a new environment. however, this doesn't happen all the time, it happened to me only when i first started my PT. when i first planted my hygro they turned all yellow and the leaves folded in.. but once they took root to my substrate they flourished. i also lost all my vals... they never grew back :(

i use eco-complete and ADA aquasoil and i put root tabs under certain plants like my amazon sword. my amazon sword never went through this NTS... but it really started to grow after i started dosing ferts.

i think i may have asked this before, but whats your lighting like? and how many gallons is this tank again?

I have some Rotala wallichi that melted when I first got it (all the leaves) but it has just started to grow a new stem.

not sure if you saw this, i had posted it but it got erased in the server upgrade...... but your lighting is low for the size of your tank. I have 74 watts on my 30 gallon planted tank.

I guess I could fire up the second set of lights. I was under the impression that The lighting was adequate for the tank.

its all relative to what you are growing, and most plants, seemingly including yours require 2 to 3 watts per gallon. some need high lighting, 4 watts or even more per gallon
