not all problems will appear at the same time. some appear faster while others slower for us owners to take notice.

Yeah i feed it just the algae wafers now, green peas, and chopped carrots. I use to see it eat a bit of the carrots but now it doesnt seem to go for it at all then again it doesnt seem to go for any of the food im putting in for it now.

Likely due to stress or it's not feeling too good
Did the vet give you any vitamin jabs for it?
If it's still acting normally except for a lack of appetite, don't worry too much but if you see it getting weak you might want to consider that

don't have to worry so much about eating. just like what elindra mentioned, as long as it's active it's still ok.

I see how it goes for another two days and if it doesnt eat then ill ask the vet again.

Anyways i manage to get my license to keep these guys. So ill see how this guy goes first and if good i might consider looking at getting 1 or 2 of a breeder here.

ya. just monitor the situation.

congrats. but you must understand that they are more of solitary creatures. they only come together to breed during breeding seasons. most of the time they can't tolerate another of their kind with them.

Errr they issue license for these in Oz?
If you get a license they allow you to keep?

I know this OOT but my biggest worry as I always tell Schmike is that one day my husband might be posted to Oz and I wanna bring my FRTs over. And I'm dead worried I can't keep them there.

Is there a site that I can read up on them on what animals they allow in Oz? Also do they allow exotics like stingrays :x

yeah gonna keep them in 5 foot tanks. i got two spares just sitting around. Will have to set it up if i end up getting them.

good to see that. you wont want to hear what happened for that brief 1 minute after i set up my 6 footer yesterday. the big boy start to attack the small boy, the girl start to attack the big boy. it's like a chain effect. i have no choice but to seperate them till my partition is ready before i divide the tank with partitions for them.

Yeah they seem to be very territorial. Would be nice if they all got along then we can keep more than one in a tank not having to worry about if they gonna hack on each other or not.
