Updated record. Ever since the feeding the SICK FRT the shell seems to be getting better along with the antibiotic shots. Still not fully recovered but i am starting to slowly see some improvement.

It also seems to be putting on a bit of weight again and shedding a lot of skin from its shell and from its neck area. I wonder once it gets better and i stop tube feeding it if it will eventually eat on its own. Haven't consulted the vet on that yet.

dont think it will be used to tube feeding. once it recovers it should be able to start feeding on its own. really very glad to hear that the sick FRT is doing so well under your care. ;)

Congrats! Putting on weight is very good news!
I doubt it will get used to it. Believe once it's stronger, it will revert to wanting to eat on it's own!

Cool sounds good. I think it will take months for it to fully heal up. Such a slow process to finally see some real results. Why isn't there a quick fix pill? hahaha. Will keep you guys updated.

Wow, i just read through your entire thread. At the beginning i was so depressed thinking it wouldn't make it. Then when you started talking about him getting better i got more relieved and excited. You did a great job caring for him, he should pull through after all he's been through. Also, your two new frt's look awesome. Keep up the great work.

Actually for the state of health it was in when you got it, I think this progress is already very good!

Looking forward to your updates :)

i will say you are very fortunate to be able to find a good vet for your FRT. if not, the FRT may have failed to make it weeks ago. the successful treatment really goes to your persistence and the vet's professionalism.

OK here is the current update, there is good news and there is bad news.

Here is the good news, the on going treatment is starting to work and the FRT is starting to slowly recover it is also putting on weight. The bone infection on its front leg has stop and the other infection on the top shell is starting to heal.

The bad news is the bone infection on its left front leg or flipper has eaten all the way through its entire bone. The infection is cleaned out but there is now a hole from the front to the back.

I feel so sad for the poor thing.

you mean the flipper have a hole now?

considering its condition now, you really did a very good job. i believe the FRT really appreciate all your effort.

Here is some pictures of the front leg after the wound has been cleaned. Bacteria has eaten from one end through to the other.
