What tank size are you keeping them in?

it's the same FRT. the one that is with me for the longest period of time. ;) it was kept in a 2'x1'x1' for 6 years. when the owner told me he wanted to give it up, i took over from him.

the 2nd one is only with me since September last year. its upturn shell is recovering "soon".

the last one is with me for just slightly over a month. its lung infection is cured and still a long way for its upturn shell to heal.

upturn shell is very common in these turtles as most people feed them with a high protein diet. not knowing that these turtles need more on plants rather than animals in their diet.

the 1st one is in a 3'x1.5'x1.5' tank.

2nd in a 2.5'x2'x1' tub

3rd is in a 1.5'x1'x0.5' reptile tank.

by sunday they wil be divided in a 6'x2.5'x28" tank and i will try to keep them together if possible.

Nice let me know how it goes.

Can't believe it one problem after another.

this may be a bad news to you. i suspect the infection might have reached its lungs. the symptom which you mentioned is lung infection. you need to bring it to the vet again. really hope this FRT is strong enough to survive through all these ****. if it does, it will be a true survivor. :headbang2

Yup it’s lung infection.
Whoever sold you the FRT is really unethical. The FRT must be kept in horrendous environment to get so much health issues.
I really hope the little guy survives. Pls do bring it back to the vet because if I’m not wrong, the antibiotics required is different.

Far out!!! I cant believe it. Sooo p_ssed off. Its eating and everything been keeping the fungus under control and seeing its recovering and now this happens. Now its gonna find it harder to get to the bottom for food.

its really good to see that you are putting it so much effort to get it treated and cured.

what you can do now is to lower the water till it just covers the FRT. so that it won't have so much problem swimming and moving around. it will also make feeding easier.

really hope that this FRT can pull through all these. like what elindra mentioned, the seller is very unethical. he ought to be shot.

I’m glad you’re making the effort to take care of it.
Likely that your FRT resistance is already low and it was already infected but the onset was slower.
Lung infection is not easy to detect for most unless the FRT start suffering from severe buoyancy problems

Do bring it back to the vet without further delay because when it has problems going down, it is pretty serious lung infection

Yeah im gonna give the vet a call first thing tommorrow before i bring it in and see what he says. I just didnt understand what i did wrong. I kept the water clean been putting betadine on the infected spots and made sure the food is correct. Been feeding it spurilina disk and green peas and chopped carrots. Also put in pimafix to stop the fungus or any other bacteria from affecting it. I just cant believe this Sh_t is happening.
