If you really go through with that you'll have to share your experience with me. Might be somethin worth checkin out
it's really easy and really cheap to maintain... an initial investment of maybe 25 bucks will get you started and within a few months, you could have a tank full of them.

I'll start lookin for a tank on craigslist, how big?

5 gallon would work, but a 10 would be a great way to start

great thing about bein in college town, always 10 gallons fully set up on craigslist for 10-15 bucks. Just found 2 tonight. I'll see if i can get ahold of one

And so the journey begins. Just picked up a 10 gallon tank this morning. Bought a new heater for it and just finished washing out the old gravel and scrubbing the tank clean. I'll set it up and get it runnin on my lunch break.

i should also say that you don't have to use a sponge filter, but they are the cheapest option if you don't already have a filter. an hob would work just fine, just make sure that you cover the intake with either a sponge or a piece of pantyhose held on with a rubberband (that's what i use on the intake of my ac20 on my cherry shrimp tank).
