piranha and ghost shimp

i'm bad at guessing when things are that small, but i would say they average around an inch or so

Another said max out at 1.5 inches

Why do my ghost shrimp always die so quick? Do you feed them something special, I thought they just ate whats on the bottom.

I live in nebraska. Where is a good place to get ghost shrimp or cherry shrimp? We really don't have any lfs here. Just walmart. haha

It's best to order them on-line. cherry shrimp will go as low as 20 for $20 on-line but as high as 3-7 bucks EACH in a LFS. Ghost shrimp are usually found pretty cheap at alot of LFS, 13-49 cents and Pet's Mart and Petco will even sometimes carry them.

They're scavengers but i just feed them crushed algae wafers that i put in the piranha tank for the pleco

I used to buy mine from petsmart, 33cents each, but seems like they are more available during summer.

Nice, the petsmart in the 2 cities (different states) i go to never have red cherry shrimp then again they always seem to have a ton of dead fish in their tanks too.
