Probably the dat... fish are smart enough not to ram into driftwood while they're swimming. Should probably seperate the dat and jar, 2 agressive fish together usually doesnt mean a calm tank.

yup. an aro that small probably could not gain enough momentum to do that kind of damage unless the driftwood had a really sharp point to it..

as long as the fish is eating fine, that kind of wound should heal up easily.

I am not a fan of melafix/pimafix, so in the past when I have had an injured fish, I usually just do an extra water change and add some salt.

good luck with your fish.

idk dude, ive seen videos of little baby silvers jumping several feet out of tanks for food, i tihnk this was a fight, but it could very likely happen from him running away from something

my arowana is in hands of melafix! tomorrow im going to get pimafix.

update: doing good. eating and acting normal. and i have a question... does melafix have a wierd smell? the wierd smell smells kinda good to be honesty.

Yeah, it's supposed to smell like that.

yeah it does smell good but up your oxygenation melafix reduces oxygen levels

Good advice. I am also adverse to medication. I mean, get the water correct, high quality food, extra changes, reduce stress - are the factors we should be looking at. Then a fish will heal up if it's going to. Never understood people reaching for medication bottles. A fish in the wild doesn't use "melafix" or a small course of antibiotics does it?:screwy:
