All I can say at this point is WOW. ( Please Read through)

My facility is a private closed facility with foot baths, UV and a minimum of 1 week Quarantine on all fish. ( I am not a transhipper and pay dearly for it). What none of you see is the Vendors side and this has quickly gotten out of hand from a simple post on a forum.

I was working with the buyer but had the care and condition of the fish in mind first. ( Sorry for thinking about the fish before the money or etc)

Many people easily cheat you and take advantage of being online. Something all vendors deal with. ( I welcome Quality vendors in a world that has become home to the mega stores wiping out our quality Mom and Pops and the scammers and cheaters who take advantage of being online) Working hard at what you do and being upfront and honest does not cut it anymore.

I spoke with DOM on the phone and yes with super cold temps and a drop in Bag temp did say it is common for Cichla to get ick, they are used to 80-85 degree water. When the fish left my facility they were healthy with no signs of Ick and had been through a week of QT.

I was called and told they had ICK and asked what the coarse of treatment was ( No solid answer) 2 days later I get a PM stating I have choices to make and then a day later I finally get the pictures. Again this evening I get a threat he will air it out on the boards and when I got a chance to PM him back I noticed this thread.

Many people mentioned to get feeders in the tank and all he did was give them pellets.

Now at this point the damage is done. Gone are the days of handling things over the phone where a mans word can be taken for the truth.

Fish in a Bowl was created by a hobbyist for the hobbyist where we treat everyone the way we want to be treated.( Remember the golden rule ?) The fish come first in our mind and the details can be worked out with respect to buyer/vendor.

Our 100% FEEDBACK was not given overnight and any repeat buyer is more than taken care of.

To all that care

Take Care and Happy Fishkeeping

Oh Blackshark11k

I am not sure what you are saying about the Guyana Ocells

Have not had any problems with them ( Atleast nobody said anything)

Yeah I purchased the guyana and a royal knife from you earlier... they both came in knocked out from cold temperatures & I revived them. I emailed you later about it saying I thought they would be fine, and the knife is doing OK now but unfortunately the guyana did die. I did not ask for DOA reimbursement (since the fish was doing fine and later passed away), so I am not complaining or bashing you.

Anyways sorry to derail your thread Dom!!

explain the fin damage then FishInaBowl. Forget the ich, those fish look like they were getting pounded on. Do you have pic's of the fish in your tank? You can say what you want about the care you take, but there's no reason why these fish should look like this.
As far as I'm concerned, I will never purchase anything from you because of this matter and the fact that you openly posted in the forum to the customer. We dont need to hear about what someone else said. You should've just PM'd the customer, or called him to work this out. The question I have for you, is if these fish don't make it due to the care you had them in, are you going to refund the customer or send him replacements?

to me they looked fine at vendor's facility when he posted pictures few days ago. Something must go wrong but who to blame for? How big is your Q-tank? is it a 10 gallon with what 2 cichla in there at that size? I am not sure in that condition fin will stay intact. Everyone with experience in cichla should know how to treat ick like popping a candy. Then again feeding new coming cichla with pellets, you must be kidding me. Pellets? Don't you talk about pellets? :screwy: Uneaten pellet probably foul the water and made already stressed cichla worse.

I was working with the buyer up until hew threw me under the bus. Pics of exact fish were posted and buyer even inquired with other MFK'rs asking what they thought. Then they were purchased. EXACT FISH

How am I supposed to know how they are being kept if you look in one of the picks it appears to have an African Mbuna in the tank (Could this be banging them up ????) Pictures were taken 3 days after they were received. That is a long time for other tankmates to beat on a fish. I consistently asked what the treatments were and it took several times to get a clear answer. If customer had listened the fish would be OK by now. ( I had several other batches go out and had this exact same case, fish were cleared in 2 days)

I only brought it out in the forum, because that is how I was treated. I sent several PMs and recomended talking on the phone before this was aired on the forums.

To answer your question YES I was working towards sending new fish or money back, asking questions and getting proof ( Collecting facts) before maaking the ultimate decision.

This is why some vendors ask for the tail to be cut off or the fish to be shipped back.

I used to order from some of them myself and we should support each other

Take Care

What was the timeline, I mean, when did the fish get shipped out, and when were they delivered? Because his photos were taken 12/16/10 around 12:50pm, which is over 30hrs ago. Were the fish shipped overnight? That kind of ich doesn't develop overnight.

Only you know if they were shipped with ich. They very well could have developed ich during shipping. I've received cichla with ich with that were shipped overnight, but it was a couple of specks. These fish are COVERED in it. That's why I was asking how long was the transit time, and how much time has elapsed from the time the fish arrived to the time the photos were taken.

See this pic in the right hand corner ( Looks to be a Mbuna) This could be where the torn fins come from. Not trying to bash the buyer only stand up for myself.

I highly encourage things to be handled in private because this is what happens

I will try to refrain from posting on this thread anymore unless I feel something should be known

Ok Ok guys personally i think this is way out of hand Both the buyer and the seller i have two points to make .First looking at the buyers tank water :grinno::grinno::grinno: in a pic and that cloudy The water no Buenno ...Seller your style of working with folks can be abrasive to say the least creating a situation that we have here both creating this what we have here .... Hugh....

I've ordered a number of times from Aaron and did not have any problems. You can tell his fishes have been in quarantine because of the condition they came in. The are pretty clean. It is up to the buyer to properly care for the fish once you received it. You have to check the ph or the new fish and your tank. If there is a big difference, you have to slowly adjust it before putting the fish in. Fish compatibility is another. This time of year is not the best for shipping fishes. Anyway, Aaron I'm still looking for those plecos I emailed you about. Let me know if you find them. Thanks.
