Please tell why NOT

just wanted to say that "hunter" is doing great. Growing like a weed. Hasn't gone after anyone. My ornate polypterus actually tried taking a nip at him, and hunter swatted at him wtih his mouth wide open....this happened a couple times. But, so far he cohabitates with much smaller clown loaches, and such. When he's a bit bigger, I'll put him back in the 265g with 20inch achara catfish....we set up the old 125g for the lil guys as "kitty fish" was snacking in middle of the night. I'm very glad we got him...already thinking about plans for indoor pond....

I just wanted to dig up this thread and say that last night my "hunter" ran into the slate at the bottom of a driftwood (came from lfs to help keep it weighted down)...well, I'm really upset about this...but he ran into it REALLY hard and had a big gash on his head...his pupils were dilated differentliy, and that's when I knew he wouldn't make it....RIP my lil' rtc x tsn.

We had him for 3 months. In that time he grew from a "cute" 4 inches to 8 inches...I WILL find another....he didn't bother anyone, and actually got bullied by my ornate poly...

that sux

I've been looking, and looking, and looking...no one in this area has a rtc tsn hybrid...none was like my lil' hunter...strange how i miss a fish...i mostly miss him when i feed the tank and look at his old spot....

sorry for your loss mate!

Sorry if I missed any important posts, but only read a few. I would say get him, they are a awesome fish. You DON'T have to grow him as fast as you can. If you are planning on moving in one to two years he'll be fine in your 265. Just be carefull of the smaller fish that will fit in his mouth. I like mine he's about 15-16 inches and I just give him a belly once or twice a week and let him digest it.

Ooops, just read the last couple of post's. Sorry about your loss. They are a wonderfull fish to have for the right owner who is willing to take care of them long term. Hope you have another on someday and get to enjoy it.
