what type of foods for LDA33 and L-18 (gold nugget)? I understand that LDA33 is a veggie eater, is there any type of veggie fish food out there? will they take algae wafers? what bout the gold nugget?

GREAT INFO I HAVE A NEW TANK (125 GAL) 4 ANGELS AND 4 TETRAS SOUNDS LIKE A COULD GET WAY WITH ADDING TWO PLECOS AND EXPERIMENT WITH THE VEGETABLES AND NOT WORRY ABOUT THE ALGAE BUILD UP BEFORE INTRODUCING THEM TO THE TANK

I've been skimming this thread, but haven't had time to read the whole thing. Any suggestions on best ways to weight food so that the plec can get at it? I am trying to think of something that won't be too ugly to look at, and (obviously) that will be safe for my fish.

What about foods that sink?

Will my cory cats eat veggies too?

I put my zucchini on a fork. Its not like you're going to leave it in there forever. Throw it in at night, take it out in the morning.

This is wonderful, I'm developing an obsession with pleco's and this has really answered a LOT of questions I've had about feeding them. My poor 15 inch common has been living an algae wafers alone for about 4 years now (since I bought him) but he was barely an inch long then so he did grow well anyways. But I've started feeding cucumber recently and my new bristlenose actually taught my common that cucumber is yummy ^_^

I'm looking forward to introducing new and better fresh foods for my babies to enjoy, the guppies were recently evicted to live in another tank so they wont have any competition now (except for a loach, two cory's and a multitude of trumpet snails)

And I just had a thought, do you think fruit leather or dried fruit would be good? or would it just dissolve into gel and gunk up the water - which by the way is exactly what nori strips (sold as seaweed for fresh and saltwater fish by my my LFS) does.

my BNs eat anything including courgette, runner beans, algae wafer, flakes, mosquito larvae

my sturisoma are more fussy, tho they mainly eat at night so it can be hard to tell

I have sturisoma fry and they love the courgette, they tend to stay off the bottom so I suspend the courgette from string lol

all of them also love JBL pellets
