Uh........exactly what is the point of that petition? Doesn't exactly have a call to action. What exactly does making the police "pay for this action" mean?

Petitions are pointless. Especially online ones.

Hey, this outcry for justice, and thousands of people showing their support, might not make a change, but I think that if we just sit back and do nothing even less will happen.

When Verizon used two pit bulls in their ad, it caused an eruption of anger from bully owners until Verizon pulled the ad. So these things do help sometimes.

And it's not just for this one dog, but for the future dogs this PD will handle.

If people 'raise a stink' every time something like this happens, it will make them think more before doing it again.

I for one have no problem putting a dog down who is attacking or trying to hurt someone, I'd shoot it myself. However, a dog who's given up and is restrained? Come on. That shows senselessness on the part of those officers.

Maybe you should look to a petition for punishing the owner? If the laws would have been adhered to this dog would still be alive.

We only see the end of this story not the middle or the begining. From what I oberserved in video you had to Officer untrained in how to deal with the complaint. That being said whatthe point of signing an online petition? Like its been already stated It won't bring the dog back. Where was the owner?

Believe me, I want to wring the owner's neck, if they dog had been properly contained this wouldn't have happened. However, it doesn't justify what those men did.

And of course, most will be feeling bad for the owner because they killed her dog. However, they said the owner was cited for it.

The dog is said to have gotten loose and ran at the lady and her kid. It acted aggressive she said, which could be true or it might have been an overzealous dog being vocal and all over them. There is no video of that.
However, it calmed down after the kid was put inside and she leashed and fed her. She was non-aggressive with the lady and the officers.
"She was a big dog, she was playful, she liked to jump around. But she's never acted aggressively toward anybody," says the dog's owner Marcus Mays.

Mary Coleman says the dog attacked her six-year-old daughter.

"I hear a big dog growling and I turn around and it was running towards us. I shut my daughter behind me and I started to yell and kick at it," Coleman said.

It was late March when Coleman and her daughter were waiting for the bus. A dog wrestled out of its leash and came running at Coleman's daughter. Coleman was able to fight off the dog and go back to her trailer to call police.

"It followed me down here and it started acting real calm again. I got the chain around it and fed it some dog food. That might have been the trick, feeding it dog food," Coleman said.

According to the video, the dog looks calm as officers put a collar around its neck and only gets agitated when police use an animal restraint pole.

"These are the people that are protecting the town and they can't even load a dog up into the vehicle? Don't have enough sense to put the pet taxi on the ground," Mays said.

Now that the dog is gone, both Mays and Coleman are left wondering if killing the dog was the right thing to do.

"I felt really bad, I really did. I was like I didn't want them to kill it, I just wanted to get it away from here," Coleman said.

"She came down here and in her last moments she was terrified trying to get away and this is the spot they shot her at," Mays said.

Quote from one report.

I am not trying to be so one-sided, belie it or not, but it says she attacked the girl, yet there are no reports of injuries?

I see so if it attacked and killed the little girl then you would be alright with shooting the dog. How about if it only bit here nose off, probably not worth shooting then, hugh?

What about the officers ssafety You tthink that white pole was going to stop that dog from attacking if it so chose too?
