Firemouth cichlids will be fine with your bichirs, they don't have a bad temperament at all. They usually just flare, worst case scenario it will push the bichir away from it's territory, but it will most likely never do any damage.
But yes, cichlids, for a lack of better words, are jerks. lol

Firemouths wont occupy the upper portions of your tank. I have a dehelzi with some ca cichlids. To be honest its a pita i usually feed the del with prongs or the pearsei 2ill get all the food.

Most cichlids are going to occupy the bottom half of the tank.

How many senegal and delhezi can I house on a 75 gal? Can I keep them with bucktooth tetra? or silver dollar?

5-6 but wouldn't advise to keep them with exodons due to their nipping behavior. Can keep with silver dollars though.

You can try larger barbs (filament, rose lines). Could try a school of scombs as well as long as the polys are bigger.

Ok will consider those fish. I'm thinking about keeping a severum with my polys. I'm aiming for red severum. Is this a good idea?
