Ok so he stated that he had arrangments made for the Shark with his friend. Did you read that or just make an assumption like the rest of the people that posted here?

i'll be in the minority here saying that you are a good fish keeper. Guys on this website are gonna flame you unless you have him in a 5000 gallon or bigger. 400 gallons is plenty for that nurse. When some guys see that photo they are going to have a pavlovian response and tell you need thousands of gallons. Its like when I put my black tip in a 560, I got flamed, but he was in a 300 for a year before that, so I basically doubled his swimming capacity.
Would he be happier in a 10000 gallon tank? Yeah, but I don't have $50,000 to spend on a tank like that. He is far happier in my 560 than he was in that 300, thats all i know.

Pulling a shark from a bad pet store and putting it into another tank that is too small didn't improve the situation at all. Two things happened at once, let's look at them constructively for educational purposes:

1) The shark is still in too small of a spot. That animal needs room to move. I believe the term is "out of the frying pan and into the fire".

2) The store just made money and was shown people will buy them, so they will more than likely try to sell another. Also, the store was able to sell an animal probably using misinformation. That is not only bad for sharks, but poor for ALL fish. The store not being held accountable for it's actions is an over alll detrament to the fishkeeping hobby.


If anyone ever uses an animal confined in a cruel space to "pick up women", they don't need to breed, but instead be taken out of the gene pool.
