I understand bullheads stay rather small and may do the trick. I have no idea on the max.

Vulture cats are pretty rare. I guarantee you, if you are even lucky enough to find one for sale, it will probably be a lot more expensive than a gulper cat.

Most bullhead species will get to 17"+. The only species I know of that stays small enough for a 55 is the speckled bullhead (Ameiurus serracanthus) which maxes out at 11".

Read several articles saying sun cats get to 18" long. Thats to big for a 55 in my opinion.

They can get 2'+, too big for a 55g.
