what about a striped rapheal

As above or as jprp recommended.personally id go for an ornate pim.
As for the suncats the biggest ive seen personally was around 10" but im sure if you do a search on here there will be biggers ones but huge ones id say would be quite rare.

Good luck and well done for asking first.

First off there have been a lot of stupid answers on this thread.
Your tank is a bit slim, I've got some 50ish gal that are 19.5in front to back, however there are still a few to go at:

pim ornatus
pim pictus
pim blochi
95 percent of synodontis sp.
hoplo
flag tail diadema
marble bagrid
jaguar cat

all of these fish will thrive on a flesh based diet whether this be small fish or insect larvae and most can be kept in groups of their kind.
if you look any of these up on planet catfish there is a facility to search for similar or same sized fish.
you are doing the right thing by checking before stocking-dont be put off by some of the previous answers.;)
If by "a lot" you mean "one", then yeah I agree with you... but seriously, which answers do you consider "stupid", because IMO, there has only been one suggestion that wouldn't work for his tank so far. Or are you referring to the people who said that there are no predatory cats that could live in a 55g?-if that's what you meant then just ignore the first part of this comment.
