Problem with bluergill and green sunfish fighting

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The cat got another misquito fish, i put the misquito fish into my 10g misquito fish breeding tank, just hope they don't eat the 3 week old babies.

here are the tanks, as you can see they are not extremely crowded and a couple of the goldfish are going to move into the bluegill tank and the gill and sunny are going to upgrade to a tank twice the size as they are in now.

:banhim::nilly::nilly::eek:

Why are all of your fish gathered below the filter? Either you just fed them right there or they are having trouble breathing in that death soup you call water.

Blue gills are just mean man. Bigger tank with larger size adversaries will help but they are antagonistic fish.

That's an interestingly shaped tank, kinda neat. That water looks toxic though, what's going on there?

If you don't have proper quarters for your fish you have now, consider rehoming some of them, or euthanasia. Don't get more fish. A 100 gallon is NOT going to fix the smorgasbord issue you have now.

Yeah, definitely something weird going on w/ the water quality. :/
I'm not sure where the person is but blue gill and sunfish are endemic species in many areas of North America so they could probably just letting the fish go as an option as well.

No, this is never a responsible option because of the possibility of spreading disease. It's a real drawback with keeping native fishes...once you bring them home, you keep them- never release them. If you're serious about it, you have to be willing to consider euthanasia if you have no other options.

Welcome by the way!

Btw, the color is not the water it is the tank glass. note how my other tank water is clear. i change 1/3 of water every week. BTW, just bought another tank for bluegill, will put him in in 5 days.
