problem with it's ass.

somethings definitely not right. should be some kind of blockage. i know bloat can be caused by physical blockage, or due to bacterial infection, but i've only seen bloat occuring in the stomach/belly area.

if its gravel, i'm really not sure what can be done. maybe you can try to physically push it out...don't know if thats gonna do anything.

if its not gravel and some other internal problems, you can try adding epsom salt. personally i've used this a few times, but can't say i have success with it.

Ok when did you first notice it?Was it swollen before it ate the prawns and feeders?

it was like this the moment my idiot brother brought it home from the LFS, normally, i'd go back to exchange it, but unfortunately i have no time to bring it back. sorry, but that's all i know. i think it's gravel, what can i do? aside from physically squishing it and tearing it's ass apart..

I'm thinking epsom salt could help. Though, it definitely helps to know whether it was brought home like this, or if this happened after being introduced into the tank (those pebbels look like trouble).

if it doesn't pass them, yes your sen coud die. we'll talk last resort solutions after you give a little more info based on the above.

Theres really not much you can do.Try adding epsom salt this will act as a mild laxative-Anne

okay, i met with a couple of friends and we've ruled out eating a big stone. cause with a stone that size, the bichir would be unlikely to be able to even lift off, yet it's swimming pretty normally. will update soon. how about last resort tatics? anything that might come in handy?
