Dang must of been hungry. It has a cool coloration on that sand
Been feeding daily since there really is not a lot of meat on those liitle crabs. Its just a short drive for me to be down at the water where I can turn over stones and get them. They are mostly a treat that I only do on occasion. Now that the puffer seems to rocognize me when I drop food Im going to try some Krill or earthworms now.

I'm about to do my nightly ritual myself. i have a lot of rivers/lakes around me. Great for driftwood sucky for crustaceans.

I'm trying to do the same so I can move onto shrimp etc on tongs

It's looking really good though

What kind of crabs? Fresh or salt water?

Got the little guy to eat a little krill this morning. A little bit of spit out and re-eat but it ate a few pieces. Its instinct to eat the falling food is good and happy to get it onto dead food.

Need to try worms on it again. It had eaten night crawlers at the beginning but seemed overwhelmed by the larger ones. I had to cut them in half or feed the smaller ones. Seemed like the 18 pack of crawlers from Walmart had smaller ones while the 12 pack fro Petco had very large ones. Not sure if this is consistently this way but the smaller seemed more favorable to this puffer.

Since you mentioned that this week I've been feeding smaller to the congo and it's been eating better. It can chop the bigger worms in half no prob but seems to much prefer smaller to eat
