Project Suvattii

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I regretted selling my old one since 2010 and they've been scarce for yrs.

How big is this one?
They shipped in a bigger plastic container instead of a betta cup so I think this one is bigger than when I ordered my Hairy puff. Would guess 3" to 3 1/4"

Did you end up getting another tank at the $1 per gallon sale for the new Suvattii?

Ah ok. That's a pretty good size. They're wc so I'm assuming they need treatment but getting these things to eat dead can be a pain.

I'm debating on getting a 20L or using the 29 I got last friday. It will probably end up in a 40b long term.

Had not really thought about the feeding aspect. Hopefully it figures out krill and earthworms fast because this is what the other puffer gets. I dont want to do feeders but might grab a few guppies if necessary.

Sounds like you got a good game plan with yours. I might just go get a 29 myself... stupid Petco sale, lol.

I just picked up a 75 from petco today. Not $1/g but 1/2off on the bigger tanks. $90. Not bad. Thats where my scootandfruti is going eventually. Was just going to use my 75 I already had but the overflow I got for it wouldnt work with the background.

My local Petco never gets in 75's. I know they would sell if they brought them in but no go.

I was surprised that they had them I was going to go get a 40b but then I saw a stack of 75s. I was bummed when I realized id need to destroy the back ground in the 75 to put in the overflow.

Id love to grab a 75 but ones by me don't do over 55. $90 for a 75 you don't have clean would be awesome. Petsmarts $500 125 setup isn't bad

I don't want to derail your thread too much but here's how I setup tanks for congos and suvatti (you have better taste). Then for kicks here's the suvatti tank I converted thinking I'd never get one

P PYRU , appreciate the tank pics. Still trying to come up with some more ideas for the Suvattii tank. I think I need to go find more rocks. It still is pretty empty looking.

So for fun I put in half a night crawler and the puffer took it down like nothing, so I fed him the other half. Apparently it was comfortable enough to eat.

Here is a pic of him tonight

I would do some rocks.

That's awesome. It shows how good of shape Its in & makes me feel good about mine going coats to coast

Thats one cool looking puffer. I wonder what color it will be with that sand once it settles in fully.
