I purchased a peacock bass over the weekend and he is doing great. I added just a couple of feeders to distract the oscars of the new comer and to give the peacock some confidence. (I hardly ever give them feeders) I also warmed the water up from 75 to 80 and boom my two female oscars are currently busting out eggs like they are going out of style. Unfortunately no male to fertilize them...

Water temp probably put them in the mood.

Thanks for the update and the photography skills are great. Think you will pick up a male?

I’ve thought about it, and maybe it would be cool to have some Oscar fry down the road, but for now, with a new bass, I think my tank is going to tapped out for awhile when it comes to stocking..

I have 2 peacock bass... one is about 12 inches long. The bigger they get, the harder they strike the surface of the water getting food. It is a messy ordeal. Love them though.
I had 3 pair of Oscar's spon but they could not keep the fry alive. Or I couldn't. I gave up... I have been eating them. After 4 years and a lot of money in food for them, I am getting my money back out. 400 degrees for 35 minutes on a 12 inch oscar. I tried for 6 months to give them away... or feed them off to Bad Cat. Even Bad Cat didn't want them. Sigh... oh well.

Nice pics! I have a few oscars that do the mating dance, but never any eggs. Makes me wonder if the temp is to low for them.
