Well, there are alternative ways to enjoy the beauty of gar scales.

I never dealt with gar-on-gar aggression, aside from a spotted gar which I put in the five hundred a bit prematurely. There were small florida gars in with the wolf pack during the years I had them.

I also noticed the majority of my aggression at the start of adding my trops, similar to you.

thats what i thought. i mean the vatf i dont know if i should hold it against them since a. it was added after them and aggressive behavior is acpected to new fish and b. it was a bad mix from the start with any gars.

about how long until they settled down? it really is just the smaller one. the big one only pushes the smaller trop around and tries to get me. was that smaller one a big aggressor in the pack?

i know clay had them in with smaller l g and still does. after seeing my flg insodent he said he wont be in a rush to put his flg in the tank.

also i think you fed more then i do and i know clay does. i have been thinking if the new diet has push the aggresstion level up of the smaller one. i know they are the first to get food and are very violent to get it. i get wet and damn neer lose a diget every time.

How often are you feeding? Because I warned Clay that if he does not feed them enough then things were going to get ugly. They turned on each other and on my aussie lung whenever they weren't fed on schedule.

he forgot to mention that part. i feed every 2-3 days. i may toss in some pellets every now and then between feeds.

the part i forgot was to remember that you said he said to keep them well fed. the part i ment you forgot was that they turned on eachother if hungry or on a diet...lol ;)

i jumped to the "rage caused by hunger" so i am testing that theroy now. you did say this particular trop was a punk and it has lived well up to that...lol

your gars look great. you really can see the diff in you lng that like everything and mine that only wants pellets. your lng are thinker then my smaller lng.
