does the new Xbox still scratch/ruin games if moved while playing? does it get the RROD/ red light of death? so far everyone voted for the Ps3 . which has a lower failure rate? whats the chances for the ps3 to get YLOD and the new xbox to get RROD or something?

I have the new xbox slim and it will still mess up the disces as long as the xbox still has a tray for the disc, it cant get the red ring of death cuz they took the "red leds" out of the face plate, it would just stop working if it brakes, as far as the PS3 failure rate it has more of a chance of faling because when you go online with the PS3 your connected to the normal internet and are vonerable to any virus out there with the xbox slim your work on a closed surver and there is no chance for a viruse to attack your system.

The PS3 connects to servers. That's how online gaming works. You connect to a server that everyone else is connected to for a certain game and the server arranges the match's. Even if you use the internet browser there is ZERO chance of getting a virus. 1. The operating system of the PS3 will not run any software or code with asking you for permission. 2. No one has written a virus for the PS3 operating system.

And although many PS3 owners will dispute the part about the online gameplay, I've never talked to an owner of both consoles who has preferred the PS3 for online.

Right here. The xbox online and PS 3 online aren't really different. They are just different versions of essentially the same thing.

PS3 has better graphics. Everyone argues it but when you play at 1080p with all the settings up with games like GOW3, G5, dead space etc. you will see it. Plus it has a 2% failure rate. The xbox has a 30% failure rate. The PS3 will not scratch discs, in fact it actually cleans your discs with a little pad as the disc enters. The PS3 has an internet browser, xbox does not. The PS3 supports video chatting, the xbox does not. And move is better than kinect but read below for that.

No. PS3 move uses a combination of controllers AND a camera to allow for 1-1 motion. Meaning it matches your movement perfectly. Kinect is 2-1 motion so it is fairly accurate, but is sort of slow. If you play it and then move you will see the difference. ( Wii is 3-1 motion and wii plus is 2-1) Also the use of the controllers allows for better games to utilize the feature. Imagine playing a FPS on kinect... wouldn't work that well. But with move you have buttons to shoot, reload, etc.

This has been proven to be caused by slow upload speeds. Meaning it is your fault for having slow internet or having to many computers using it at once. I have not been dropped from a game even once, it has never lagged for me and I have never had any glitches or bugs.

NOW this may seem like I am a PS3 fanboy but I am not. I love sony and Microsoft. In fact I hate saying that xbox sucks because I love MS so much. But it does. When the next gen of systems roll around I really hope I will be cheering for MS.

I went with 360, crossing my fingers that I dont get another RROD.

to me it was because of the games, when I got the first 360, PS3 didnt have almost any games I liked, also the control sucked back then.

afterwards I built a fairly decent game coletion, so when my 360 died, it made sense to get another one (only under the asumption that the slim has improved on reliability)

Also the kinec looked so awesome!!

being the exclusive games my reasons to choose either console, these are my reasons for getting a PS3 (most of which are sequels of games I owned for the PS2):

-GT5
-GT5
-GT5
-God of war 3
-Metal gear
-uncharted

The 360 doesn't have so many exclusive games, mostly:

-Halo (all of them)
-Forza 3
-Gears of war

I see what you did there. You mentioned GT5 3 times and forgot to mention Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts as one of the 360 exclusives.

I'd go with the 360 Slim. It's failure rate is much lower than 30%(only the older, non-slim models have this failure rate) and has wi fi(you still will need to pay for xbox live though...but it's completely worth it).

Okay, I can't just leave it at that...
Fable3 is a pretty good game..but Halo Reach is a PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A GAME unless you are into the online gaming, that's all it was made for. I appreciate a game with a good storyline...old skool, crappy graphics-time/turn based gameplay are worth it for GREAT story line (i.e. Final Fantasy)

Anyway, Fable3 really tore my heart out at the end, I even cried a little...
Halo Reach, made me want to set my xbox on fire and never look back, very disappointing.

Bottom line, most games are on both systems and PS3 is the superior piece of hardware
You can watch blueray (yes, it DOES make a difference between regular and blueray) without having to buy an accessory (xbox360, you have to BUY accessory to play HD DVDs)
And...FREE ONLINE PLAY, so even if you decide you DON'T want to pay for something the component SHOULD DO, you can still update your software without being extorted, which to me...is priceless (it's the principal of the matter!)

Xbox 360 is so much better than the ps. Better games. Online is not that expensive so who cares about cost and the quality of online play is far greater. Netflix on 360 is amazing and the controllers are far superior to the ps they just fit in your hands better.
