Either way, you're not gonna get a straight answer bud. All of us prefer one thing over the other and you're not gonna get a straight answer. The poll may show that the PS3 is more popular, but I know for a fact I've seen more than 8 people post in this thread saying they enjoy the XBOX more.
There's ups and downs to both. While the PS3 is free to play online, the XBOX you have to pay. That said, the 360 calls for a better online experience than the PS3 does. There are many console-specific titles that you can choose from on either console, as well. Grand Turismo and God of War are a couple on the PS3, and both Halo and Gears of War are a couple on the XBOX.
Everyone saying "omg blu ray", don't listen to them. Does it make a difference than standard definition? Yes, of course it does. That said, the 360 is an HD console and all you have to do is purchase separate cables and you couldn't tell the difference between a blu ray movie on the PS3 and an HD movie on the 360.
Obviously, they both also just came out with new additions to their console. The 360 just got Kinect which is just about the closest thing to "virtual reality" as you can get. You literally move with the game. The PS3 came out with the Move. I see it as a glorified Wii remote, but everyone that I talk to that owns it absolutely loves it.
I'm biased towards the 360, but that's mainly because that's the first "new" system I got. I own both the Wii and the PS3 also, and I can't say I really touch either. I also love Halo Reach, despite what anyone says on here. The storyline is amazing on story mode and the online gameplay really can't be matched. Remeber though, IT'S ALL MY OPINION. Don't let me influence you.
It's all going to determine on your preference. You just need to do a little research on the both of them and determine which one it is you really want. Nothing anyone can say here should ultimately determine your decision. A lot of people may really like the 360, but you may get it then wish you got the PS3. It's the same thing the other way around, too. Just do a little research and pick the one you think you would enjoy the most.
