...and I suppose you wanted me to type in his whole life story as well? Just because I didn't comment about Mr. Chaw and how he had "dollar signs in his eyes" does not mean I didn't "think" to condone what he did. Go post your little screwball emote elsewhere buddy.
relax tough guy

you pointed out the fact that all the govt cared about was the money, and i simply pointed out that the smuggler cared about the same thing. dont get your panties in a bunch ;)

and you think the smuggler didnt have nothing but dollar signs in his eyes either? :screwy:

Yeah I agree, I smell a rat too. If what BDerick67 said is correct, that he already had 4, well then, it's pretty obvious that they were being sold, right? The means to house 20 fish that are over 2 and a half feet long are ridiculous. They robably were gonna end up on the black market. Hopefully the remaining fish will be given to zoos and aquariums, rather than rotting in an evidence locker.

I gotta believe that the fish were in pretty sad condition after being in the bag for as long as they were during the smuggling process (days) - probably not packed very well...in the luggage compartment on multiple airplanes...sitting in the cold on the tarmac... It's amazing that any of them lived.

This guy knew he was doing something illegal... he's already been fined for the same thing... so throw the book at him.

asian arowana = my medical marijuana. I'll make it legal one day.

Yup... everything will eventually be legal. Look at Prop8 (im not even going to start there but just making a point). Its just a matter of what Generation it will fall on:irked:

I do have to say Koop had a very good point. They are Banned cause they are limitted on numbers but the feds kill them when they catch a smuggler:screwy:... that makes no sence:grinno:.

They should atleast give them to the Zoo's or send them somewhere. Its doing the opposite of what the ban is for... to save but to kill:screwy::screwy::screwy:

"After Chaw confirmed the bag was his, Agent Paul Chapelle told him the fish found inside cannot be imported without a permit."

did i just read correctly?

Yep, you did.. But if i'm not mistaken, to obtain a permit you must be associated w/a zoo, aquarium or place of higher learning that'll use it for research.

they are everywhere in NYC ,if youre asian and got money in hand. you too can be a proud owner of an asian arrowana. people use to show off their fish in restaurant tanks till people started to say things. he had 4 in his house.imagine how many more he prob sold in the past..
