Question about Metro + Focus and feeding.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The worms are fairly new tbh. The diet before mainly consisted of the nls and northfin with a bit of wafers. As long as I can remember he has her some inconsistencies with his poops.

I might just try a new food and keep it simple for a while and see if that helps them slowly add one thing at a time. Maybe one of the foods o feed him.doesnt work well with his gut.

Post #3 by Aquanero. I remembered reading something by Tom about this years ago. It might be worth considering, which is why I suggested dropping the worms from the diet.

And today, there is also the NLS AlgaeMax formula that is available for extra plant matter. I feed it to all of my fish a few times a week, even the species that are classified as carnivores.

I feed the 2mm pellets, from 3" to 12" fish.

Yeah he would be fine up to 3mm.

I will be stopping the metro now and try the diet thing. Monitor the little spot and see what happens over the next few months.

I also reached out to the fish doctor on YouTube, maybe I will get some advice.

Without a smear of the feces, there really isn't much that a DVM can do for you, even one that specializes in fish.

this is so incredibly frustrating and disappointing...

I stopped the metro covered food a few days ago and I am still seeing clear longish stringy feces like at least 1-2 times a day!! I feel like all those meds and stuff didn't do a damn thing to help.

He still seems normal but the sight of the poop hanging from him just makes me feel so defeated and like I just want to give up.

Was there a change in the amount of the clear or white feces during treatment? Wasn't there more at the beginning of treatment? There's a picture showing long stringy feces. How is it now compared to that?

like the same. During treatment it was off and on but I find that with consistent feeding i notice the clear feces less.

Im hoping that this is just clearing out junk as opposed to still having an active parasite issue. But i feel very discouraged and like it was all for nothing. Not sure how doesn't as much metro as I was and for the length of time I did would not of wiped out everything.

Add in all the other steps i took to ensure a clean bill of health and I feel like I am still where I started somehow. I just don't get it!
