I got a 12 year old ocusin and he acts like he's 6, and he's fat. I can't see him doing much work anytime soon, lol.
you would be surprised. up until i 17 i was obese and didnt have any outside activities, i was in the worst shape of my life probably border line diabetic because at the time was thristy every second of the day. i took up football for a year until i broke my wrist, lost 30 lbs.
didnt do any more regular exercise until i was in college. then i begun cross country and weight training as a hobby lost another 50 lbs. ive gained some weight back probably 40 lbs since i took abreak from long distance running, i still lift and my body fat percentage is vastly different(its better) now then when i began running.
hopefully most of these people will realize there life isnt what they want and they will just decide to change.
you would probably be surprised at the strength of will some of these introverts have, living in there fantasy world of books and video games where heroes complete unreal feats. they try to identify with those heroes. and just don't see failure as a acceptable option.

the only thing you can do is just give him encouragement.

You can't tell me you have to be tough to be able to fix a piece of medical equipment? Sure it would take skill, but I don't think being able to do that makes you tough.

Would you want to spend 12 hours a day picking wheat in 80F weather? Or would you rather get in a combine and work for 8 hours and make 6X the pay. I would take the latter anyday. Softie or not, lazy or not lazy, we have passed this age where everyone has to work hard labor.

Also as Red Devil was saying survival kicks in. If I had to work 12 hours a day picking wheat to get my dinner at the end of the day or to feed a family, I would. I could weigh 300lbs, I would do it no matter what. Humans have been through for quite awhile, we have survived plenty of things. Some would die, but I think most would kick into that survival moder and do whatever they have to do.

Softies or not, i'm glad I can come home and cook up some pizza bites or can search online for why my feet hurts or open the fridge and take out the butter.

and lastly, you can act as tough as you want, but at the end of the day, THE MIND IS MORE POWERFUL THAN A BICEP
that true, if strength was more valuable gorillas would rule the world.

"My great grandfather was a cane cutter and worked full time since he was 12. My pop worked hard all his life too and got a street named after him.."

Dont forget that one of the reasons our forefathers worked so hard was for the betterment of the family and in particular the kids and grandkids.

There is nothing to be ashamed about if you are thankful for their good work.

Physical? No it's not tough.

But keep in mind that if you fail, someone is dead.
Real time. No time to plan.

Lol there is no doubt about that, I'm not arguiing about that or anything. My point is that people have become weak due to technology and such.

i think it would be very tough if fixing it right depended on someone living or dying because of the way you fixed it.. it takes courage to have responcibility ... and responcibility is tough...

Yeh it would be tough in the definition you are refering to, but it's not the definition of tough which I'm talking about.

whats all this "im so tough" talk. its really silly and pointless if you ask me. and if youre saying that people today are physically "weak", i find that absurd too.

and lastly, you can act as tough as you want, but at the end of the day, THE MIND IS MORE POWERFUL THAN A BICEP

Did I ever say I'm tough? The whole time I've been saying my genration is weak, lol.

And I'm just having a discussion with people, whats so silly and pointless about that?

You also seem to think the mind does not play a part in hard labour? The mind has to be really strong to give you the self motivation to do these sorts of tasks.

My older brother was the same as you. I prob would give my cousin encouragement, but he just annoys me too much. He's spoilt.

that and now college is easier to get into... back then you needed $$$ to go to school so there were more blue collar hard laborers...
more people are going to college now, but a degree is worth less then it was even 10 years ago.

also college is significantly more pricier now, tuition is double what it was in the 90's . textbook prices are probably rediculous when compared to old prices.

What's with people likening working class people to apes?

To work as hard as the men do who do labouring jobs, you have to be physically fit, and that does not always mean brute strength, it also means your heart lungs, endurance and mind power.

There is a difference between an ape and a man who is willing to work 12 hours a day to supply his family with food.

You need to specify your definition of weak. By your thoughts, you have a brute moron, or weak genius. Take your pick.

and whats the the ragging on the brilliant minds that keep this world running? the very technology you claim is worthless is whats allowing you to post your thoughts on a computer screen

But why work 12 hours back then compared to 8 hours now(whether it be a hard labor job or an office job) and make 3-6X the pay. If that's considered lazy, then by all means let me be considred lazy and I'll make the 3-6X the pay.
