Rays on a budget- My (somewhat long) story w/pics

Thanks so much! It's so hard sometimes to come on here and put out for the world to see thatr I screwed something up AGAIN...but we all do it...

Some things have happened that I just couldn't bear to even admit...I don't have any specifics, but I didn't list all the bad Fry shipments over the winter and I'm sure there are several othr embarrassing mistakes as well...but I have tried as a whole to keep this right out in the open and not hold back. I STILL feel that I can share everything I do and everything I plan with no fear of my ideas being "stolen"...I just don't think anyone else has the vision to go the way I am going...and if they DO...if ANYONE does...message me up and I'll HELP. There are so many uncharted avenues here, that I can go in any number of directions with no fear of finding a market.

The food thing...I totally got it figured out...In fact I had a couple pounds set aside with Dessicant in the fridge to send out for anpother round of samples for people who are still waiting. My Rays...my new baby P Bass..and Even my 2" Datnoid LOVE it...but the portion I set aside didn't de-hydrate quickly enough with the dessicant, and yesterday I had to throw it out... SO...I can't proceed until I get a smaller commercial sized food de-hydrator in order to get the moisture out. I really wish I could find a food de-hydrator that used vacuum to boil out the moisture...but they just don't make those...at least not in my price range...but I guess the low temp that the normal de-hydrators use is just fine...they hit a temp that is about right to Pasteurize, and that's probably a good idea anyhow.

I havn't checked on the Ray yet that is being mounted... I'll send an email..but I havn't really worried too much because he's gone either way. I'm still not sure if I'll keep the mount, or donate it...That's something I won't know till he's here.

things with the wife will work out...if they don't it won't be because of what's happened in the last year. Financial stress creates issues in any relationship...but I believe that when we are both thinking clearly that we have the same belief in what's happening. She does take interest at times, but she's not really a fish person...she likes them and thinks they are really cool...but as far as taking interest in working with them, that's not something I can teach. Time will tell... but the bottom line is...no-one here is going without the things they need. I wouldn't let that happen. Yeah, it hasn't been easy, but I know where this is going or I wouldn't have just spent another round of tax refund on it. I just keep the faith, and try to keep walking towards the light. Today is good...Hopefully tomorrow will be good too...but today comes first.

I like your way of thinking and have total respect for you for continuing with your project. Hope it all works out for you as most would have thrown in the towel by now. What are your thoughts on the book idea? There are only a handful of books out there with information on rays and i have all 6 of them but 2 are in taiwanese, 2 are aqualogs and the other 2 are the ones most ray keepers have as reference. I believe that if you had the time this could be another enterprise for you but you need to log down all that you do just as you have on here. Something to think about for later after your bussiness has totally set off and you can kick back and relax because atm i dont know how you are still standing with the amount of hours you must be putting in.lol
 
I do need to go through and do another update...this is going to be a hectic week. Friday is opening night at the speedway...still have no motor for the car. I just had to make a deal to borrow a motor to meet the obligations...and my engine guy is kinda whizzing me off...Getting your motor put together for free isn't always worth it...if it isn't done when you need it...

Anyhow...got a long week of thrashing ahead of us...and then in the following weeks we need to get the things done that didn't get done because we were waiting for the motor...What would I ever do if things were ready on time though...might be boring. ;)

Motoro Magic- the idea of a book is actually pretty cool...but it would have to be a lot different than other books about this type of stuff. I still cannot claim to be anything close to ray expert...but I CAN help people avoid the common pitfalls and save a lot of money on equipment.... I have a problem finishing projects like that though...but my wife is writing a book about the crazy mother of my first kid...so maybe I'll pass it off on her. ;) But really...I think as we get older, that kind of thing rises up as an interest... I've kept my interest up enough to continue here updating this thread for over a year now, so maybe you're right. I really think a lot of books about things like this are written from a perspective of an expert who may over-look some of the simple issues...or who may not share their learning curve errors... So you really are onto something...because so many books make you think that the author has never had an issue...or never made a mistake...and I also think that a more loosely written book may provide more interesting reading...just like this thread....going off-topic...hitting on other life issues...the whole deal..Hmmm...great to think about.

P.S.- I'm kinda thinking that all 4 of my mature females are pregnant now...Not sure about the largest Motoro..but she is suddenly wanting to eat more...even smelt, which she has always refused...and 'Darkness' as named by the former owner...the Henlei/Motoro...she's never been pregnant...but someone has been gently working her backside and she is more active and hungrier than ever...she's a big fat pig though, so it'll take time for her to show...But at any rate...something is making them all very happy and active, and I think it's the Bioreactor and the other things I've improved making them much happier with their water. They are all doing better than ever...like they want to come out of the water and give me a big hug...they're such big sweeties!

I cannot fly...just keep that in mind...lol.

But I do have 10 hours flight instruction in an airplane... ;)

Close enough... and I know you've got xray vision and super strength so its ok that u can't fly
