good grief ladies lets all get along, we all love the fish is the point, lets all take a 5 min relax and go stare in your tank and contemplate the meaning of life.

now that were all finished menstruating lets all be friends, bottom line call it whatever you want its your fish , and there all cool so CHILL

Here's what happens after a thousand post like this. People ask, they get an ansewr, they don't like the answer so they keep asking until someone tells them what they wanted to hear. Then they "say see! I told you so!" Members with years of experiance do try to help new members with questions and give opinions based on the knowledge gathered over many years of dealing with the fish. Some listen some don't, after a while the experianced members stop answering because it feels as if they are beating their haeds against a wall. The RD/Midas question, the what is the minimum size tank question and the is my tank over stocked question are beaten to death and people get tired of answering questions if the advice gleened over years of experiance is ignored. One guy will tell the OP "yeah is cool go for it" that's what he was waiting to hear and that's it off he goes throwing two unbee a dovii and a pacu into a 75 gallon tank. So really after about a thousand of those why bother.

I understand where you're coming from Tom, but remember I'm a person with feelings and to say things like "I thought he was trolling two pages ago" is a bit condescending or downright rude... I'm neither stupid or ignorant and I have had a lot of experience with these cichlids over the years....maybe a lot to offer, but my only handicap was I had a 10 year layoff from the hobby until recently so it seems I'm playing catch-up a little with the current view points.

Thats the point of this thread and to be honest I've still not satisfied myself that the fish I have are anything yet. To say my fish are Midevils is a easy answer, am I not correct? Its like saying I could be a cross between Scottish and English because you don't know....

I'm not fishing for compliments either. I'm looking for viewpoints and trying to get my head around why people are so adamant about them.

so much for being the peace maker..:irked:

I think it is a fair assumption that unless you had a pair of f1's pulled directly from the water way in which they come there is no "real" way of identifying what they are exactly for 100%
the midas, devil familia is so mixed up , common names and bs names lfs's put up only make it worse
people get sold something called a red devil and it may be a midas, citro or lab's its impossible to tell, all i know is i got a bunch of em and there cool, midas , devils , citron, or labs midevils whatever the hell they are , there great and you guys have some sweet ones,

Tnovice, I have owned wild caught grey bared Labiatus years ago

If you did own wild caught red devils, you would most likely know how they would look, meaning you would have a better idea of what your Amphilophus juveniles are.

Almost everybody is giving you the answer "midevil". All your doing is arguing and being unbiased.

Thankyou... someone finally realises I'm not ignorant after all :nilly:

Yes I'm trolling for opinions... what wrong with that - I'm not trying to upset anyone. If some people see that differently then you need to take a long hard look at yourselves... I've been talked down to by RD, Modest_Man and a few others on here... tried to keep this debate open and honest and ended up getting called ignorant by at least two members... Nice people on this site :(

Is it normal for people on this site to be so flippant?

Wow you are hilarious, are you joking and just trying to get a rise out of people?? Really! I have been following this thread and the guys with a heck of alot of experience have told you and helped you with exactly what you wanted to know!

They are basically telling you that your fish is a mut for the reasons that are in the links they posted that you did not read obviously! you have no solid evidence that he is a pure breed so what do you keep chirping about, just like a dog that is a mut that nobody knows where he came from he might look like an american staffordshire terrier or maybe a Staffordshire bull terrier if he is a stray NOBODY WILL KNOW.

you get called ignorant because of your replys!!
