To that end I would tell the OP your fish is absolutly 100% Amphilophus _______________ fill in the species of your choice and put this puppy to bed.

I think Tom put it best here. Your not going to be able to determine what is it just by looking at it so essentially all you can do is call it what you feel comfortable calling it. If you want to call it a Red Devil by all means do, but there is no one person here who can tell you what it truly is.
