Red Texas frys from Thailand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What SRT? I don't see any SRT for sale on aquabid, maybe I'm missing something.

Agreed, Fengshui Aquatic (Dave and Nate) is an amazing sellers in Thailand. Was born in the US so they speaks perfect English, I know it can be a problem with some overseas sellers. One of the best sellers at the moment. They have awesome fish a great prices. I just received a male and female SB RD from them. Gonna upload a video.

RT...SRT...same crap. Names are names, playing smart doesn't go anywhere.

That wasn't a trick question, I'm simply asking where these pics are of these "red" texas being sold by Fengshui? I saw the SB red texas for $260 on AB, but I'd hardly call that red.

Who cares how amazing the vendor is, the OP is looking for a red texas that is actually red. If Fengshui has some for sale please post the links, I'd be interested in seeing them. If they are all orangish looking then Chris (cjbarth) probably has stock just as nice, or nicer for far less.

Dave never takes pics, its always on Youtube so everything is video. These are the RT fry in question.

Daves RT are better than Chris's but Chris does have nice ones.

For the record Dave deals in quality fish, not local garbage. Those fry will be great.

So names are getting into a specific point of play now? Is all "Red Texas" suppose to be "Red"? And you say "who cares how amazing the vendor is"...maybe you should read what the OP's is truly asking in the first place(and if you don't care how amazing a vendor is - you should go buy from any AB seller then). Of course who doesn't want a "Red" Texas, but lets face it...who really has a "Red" Texas anyways. There's a certain degree in that redness category that it will make it up to. Just because he said red doesn't mean that it have to be "Red" like what you listed or defines it as. You think anyone would really sell such color for such price? You must be joking...if you see one redder than these for sale on AB(in video - so we can see that its not photoshop) then please show it to me and I would like to see it as well. And don't say the first fish have too many whites either and the red doesn't count...lol. And leave Cjbarth out of this please, I'm sure he still wants to continue breeding quality fish at his best and not want everyone jumping on his back proving who fish is better than who's...

Yes, I've seen the fry already, thanks.

Big_one ........ half the time I don't even know what the hell you are talking about. I know exactly what the OP asked, do you?
So far no one has answered his question with regards to what these fry will turn out like. Chris says they will be great, yet he doesn't have a clue as he's never grown any out, and I'm assuming neither have you. I've seen some nice RT's come out of Bangkok, and I've seen a lot of crap, even from well respected vendors.

The reality is it will be a crap shoot, just like it is when one buys a small group of random 1" RT fry from any vendor. Out of a 1/2 dozen fry you might end up with some gems, or you might end up with 6 fish that you are never happy with. No one said that this vendor doesn't have some quality RT, but buying a random group of 1" RT fry & expecting "high quality" specimens is about as realistic as buying a random group of 1" Kamfa fry from a vendor & expecting them all to grow out to be MP. Like most things in life you get what you pay for.

Calihawk - have you considered avoiding the hassle & simply buying a larger juvie from this vendor with the exact traits (and color) that you are looking for?

True that when you buy fry its a gamble but the better quality the parents the less you are gambling. And when you are dealing with a good seller they might be willing to pick you out a nice fry if you ask.

The most of the larger ones (not the SB) he is selling are from the same parents as the fry. They fry may not look like much, even a lot of them do look good, they are still very young. They really are 1", he doesn't exaggerate on the sizes. From what I have seen most don't fade until they are 2" or larger so its understandable that they aren't very red at the moment.
