I have been trying to get them to eat HBH Super-Soft Krill pellets, because of their tiny mouths.. I thought they were eating them because they were disappearing, and not 'fuzzing' up.. However, I saw some get soggy and float to the top, and I think they end up a brown mush in the sump, so I quit trying that.. Just going to wait until they get big enough for Hikari Massivore.

Hikari Massivore sinking pellets are the best!

They have been packing down krill the last few days. I am very excited. No more blackworms :D I think I will be able to inject PraziPro into the red wigglers to do a secondary QT period, I still think the runt has some parasite issues.

Sally's San Francisco Bay makes a 'mini-pack' of Krill. I noticed it at a crummy LFS that is really far from my house, when I had some time to krill (lol).. I observed that all of the pieces of krill were smaller than the larger flatpacks that PS sells. They are perfect size for juvenile stingrays.

They also seem to be loving this special mysis shrimp I got from the LFS I got the rays from.. They are all very large mysis, fresh and oily.. Very high quality. They make a mess of the water though. I quit using frozen bloodworms because alot of them end up floating and they don't really fill up the rays.

I added 2 killie fish for clean-up crew, and they are keeping the particles out of the water. I still have a 5" BGK in with them too.. He cleans up at night.

I will add more pictures, including the krill, later on!

As some of you know, I lost power in my fish room a few weeks ago, and had to move the rays into the house. They are currently in a 100g, 60x18" tank :D 3x a week, 50% water changes. Eheim 2 Pro for filtration(stacked with Matrix), plus the big sponges. I have a spray bar on the powerhead, which is on a timer, blowing waste in 1 hour intervals 5 times a day. (less stressful for the rays, IMO)

Ever since I put them on this barebottom they have been eating krill like crazy, and already showing dramatic improvement. Before the 'emergency' I had been starving them to try to get them to eat pellets, so it was very bad timing. The tank temp in the fish room dipped down to 68 degrees, and they were okay even after the transfer, ate krill immediately..

I transfered them into the new tank, and the smallest ray, "stumpy", got her disc nipped by a hungry albino bichir. I also had to remove the gravel while they were in the tank, and it got really nasty.. No problems. Even was dumb and left the glass heater in their, got a little heater burn, no problems, healed right up.. These rays are pretty tough LOL :D :D :D

Current tankmates are a Jardini and Ctenopoma also.. soon to be no Jardini, all Ctenopoma..
