I'd do it too for $250 million :D

101% agree with you right there.

An absolutely fantastic player.

About the $250 mil, touche ;) Hopefully he can make MLS more palatable to the masses.

And the difference, the quality, of Man U with Scholes and without is tremendous. He is playing at a high level right now and looks better than he has in years. He obviously has all of Sir Alex's confidence ...

I hate alex ferguson with a PASSION.
You got to step back though and just say "fair play to the guy"

Out of ronaldinho and ronaldo, i'd still choose fabregas lol

How much did the ronaldo go for in transfers?

I think it was 8 million euros the Ronaldo transfer.

Beckham isn't guaranteed 250 million. His base salary is 5 years, 50 million and the rest of the money will come through endorsements and the like.

Frank Rijkard is not even half the coach Mourinho is. What did he do before he came to Barcelona? and has he ever won anything before he had Ronaldinho.

Yeah, Ronaldinho is probably better than Cristiano now, but he's also had 5 years more experience. Cristiano is better at age 21 than Ronaldinho was at this age and he does have the potential to be just as good if not better.

Maybe you should watch some of Ronaldhinos old videos or games because when he was C Ronaldo's age he was all razzle dazzle playing mostly in the wing... I got to watch him alot since I got alot of brazilian soccer here on tv. Well talk in 5 yrs and see how he has developed as a player C Ronaldo I mean. Frank Rijkaard and the new owner / president of barcelona took Barcelona out of debt I believe 25 million it was in debt and brought them up to be the futbol powerhouse in the world. I think thats a great feat tactically financially and coaching ability.

Yeah, real difficult to bring a club like Barcelona out of debt. :yuck: Really difficult to win league titles when you have Ronaldinho, Deco, Eto'o, Puyol. It's not as difficult a feat as you make it out to be for a club of that level to rid itself of financial debt.

I absolutely stand by the fact that I think Ronaldo is better than Ronaldinho when he was this age, and that he'll naturally progress to being the best player in the world in 2-3 years.

Financial debt is not something easy to get rid of .... look at early 90's AC milan when they destroyed everyone in every which competition possible then struggle along midtable...not being able to buy any world class players for more than a decade. What happened to Barcelona when Stoichkov, Ronaldo, Figo, De La Pena, Guardiola, etc... all left? They struggeled for a few years. Let me ask you something? IF C Ronaldo is as good as you state him to be, then why the hell is Man U. in alleged talks with Barca to obtain the services of Xavi and using C Ronaldo as a bidding tool? If C Ronaldo is a franchise player that will be a key asset to the clubs future why is the front office willing to give him up for a player thats 7 yrs his senior? That tells us how they feel about him in terms of a team oriented atmosphere. He may be good at nike freestyle commercials and he may be good at dribbling the ball and scoring pretty goals............, but and this is a big BUT "no pun" when have you seen C Ronaldo take a team on his shoulders and ride it out? When have you seem him sacrifice C Ronaldo the individual for C Ronaldo's team? I highly doubt that C Ronaldo will ever be the best player in the world. There are too many critics out there. And hes developed a rep for folding under pressure and mouthing off to referees when he doesnt get his way. There is a reason why he gets booed off every stadium except for old trafford. And its not because of what happened in the England Portugal game.

Ill just let this be my last disagreement because youre very biased to the conversation and dont really look at the obvious... its great to have pride in ones own nationality and country of origin, but you must also be aware of certain things and not be ignorant because of pride. I am colombian and we were favs to win the U -20 south american championship... with a great # 10 who is suppose to be the next big thing coming out of South America... he didnt do schit and I am aware of it and state that on paper they were the best, but they played like the worst... not ashamed to admit it, but we have to face reality too.

I really do hope that C Ronaldo does change the way he plays ... if he was to be a little more tactical he could be one of the very best... his immaturity and lack of regard for his teammates is his downfall. I can say the same for Ibrahimovic great technically, but will he ever put his team first?

What you're talking about with Cristiano Ronaldo going to Barcelona in a trade with Xavi is a rumor. Just like it was a rumor that he's going to Real Madrid. You want to hear another rumor? Jose Mourinho is going to Real Madrid and he's going to take Ronaldo and Frank Ribery with him to start over at the club with two strong wingers. That's a rumor and there are lots of them. You can't credit what the media says, especially what media tabloids in England such as "The Sun" say because all they do is lie to sell papers.

You obviously hate Ronaldo to be saying the things you said about him not being able to carry a team. Perhaps, and I say perhaps, you haven't seen Man U play recently where Ronaldo has literally carried the club on his shoulders, winning player of the month two times in a row. Or maybe you haven't seen the Portuguese National Team play where Ronaldo literally carries the team on his shoulder. I should know, because I watch all of the games.

The reason he's booed at English stadiums has everything to do with the World Cup. The Rooney incident. The perception that all he does is dive. It has everything to do with the World Cup.

And I would like to know how I'm being ignorant about this subject. All I've said is that I think Cristiano Ronaldo has the ability and potential to be the best player in the world. He's already one of the top players at the world at the age of 21. So why is it ridiculous to say that he will be the best.

There's a reason why people in Portugal are heads over heels for this guy. He'll be better than Luis Figo and we have such high hopes for him, that he could reach the legendary status of Eusebio. Yeah, I have pride and I'm a little biased, but to say that he's not a fantastic, game changing player is
ignorant in it of itself.

Phew. Good thing he doesn't play in France, those games are brutal! ;)

Where does Ricardo Quaresma rank on the Portuguese team now? He was such a shining light a few years ago - I hope he hasn't pulled a Denilson.

i never said I hate Ronaldo I actually think hes a wonderful player when hes not eating grass from diving so much. I dont think he carries Man U....i think they have to thank paul scholes for that, hes their garbage man...he may not be electrifying, but hes the soul of the team point blank. I think youre really missing the point about what I am trying to say. Its no personal attack on C Ronnie. I think he needs to mature more and only time will tell if in fact he will be as great as Luis Figo Ronaldhino Platini Zidane Van Basten etc....just to name some of the great midfielders ever to play. I hope he does make because I agree he could be the next big thing. HIS GAME NEEDS TO MATURE is all im saying and I dont think you have been able to grasp that.

To make one thing clear I said ALLEGED talks about the trade for Xavi and C Ronnie ... I never said it was etched in stone. Well have this conversation again when C Ronnie is about 25 -26 and we will hopefully agree that his game has changed and that he is more team oriented and less individualistic.

By the way I think Maniche carried the portugese team on his back in the world club.....hes the paul scholes of the Portugese national team...if it wasnt for his play and the way he held the midfield ..not to mention his goals...portugal would not have gotten as far as they did. I think he deserves the credit.

I hope you understand this is all in good chat... so dont get offended and dont take this personal at all. But dont take certain points of my post and use them against me as all this is futbol chat...

Take Care bud

got to say saw ronaldos last game, and its hard to think of a more effective player sometimes (even if the game was against bottom of prem). If he scored all the sitters he missed, god knows he'd be way ahead of drogba. When he gets that sorted, and maybe if he becomes a little less greedy, he'll be as good as fica thinks of him now lol. second top scorer in prem, that aint bad for a "winger".
