Depends on the meds that it's been exposed to and what you feed it... Don't kill yourself eating a rtc...

thats the thing...i don't want to food poison myself...but the only med's its ever expose too is Salt and prime also if i leave it in the freezer was i suppose to put salt over it

salt and prime are perfectly fine....think about all the sh*t they are exposed to in the wild, and freezing it will kill anything parasitic

oh ok just needed to be sure...i don't want to end up being dead...:nilly:

haha! don't hold me liable. but i'd do it! cooking it will kill so much stuff anyways, i don't really see an issue.

one other thing is that while i was taking him out of my tank so i don't foul the tank waters since its already dead...i got stabbed by its dorsal spine...should i be worried? i didn't know what to do so i put my hand where i got stabbed in hot water for about 30 seconds and then dried it and added antibiotic and put a bandaid on it.

Fried monster sticks sound good but ive heard they dont got a really good taste well off some fishing video on youtube.

oh...well eating it will still be risky..:nilly: i'll still cook it...dead...it ate my Male Red Devil, My wild caught Female Red Terror :irked: It ate my Jardini Arowana the day i bought the Jardini and added it to the tank...so im abit sad about it dieing but im kinda happy in a small way...like its payback for all the fishes your killed and ate in the aftermath :nilly:

thats what i heard aswell...but i'll let you guys know if it was good or if you have a dead RTC throw it away or give it to a taxidermist...:)

If you found it dead, you don't want to eat it. Once something dies (usually of disease), they have some type of bacteria that'll not be good eats. If you want to cook one up, it has to be killed. Dying of disease usually affects the taste of the meat as well. From what I've heard, natives eat RTCs, but they says that RTC meat isn't that popular down there because they don't like eating "Red" meat.
