If you found it dead, you don't want to eat it. Once something dies (usually of disease), they have some type of bacteria that'll not be good eats. If you want to cook one up, it has to be killed. Dying of disease usually affects the taste of the meat as well. From what I've heard, natives eat RTCs, but they says that RTC meat isn't that popular down there because they don't like eating "Red" meat.

well yea but he died from being attack constantly by my uncles dovii in his 180. I posted before that i had to bring all my fishes to my uncles tank to be taken cared of while i got back from Las Vegas, so he died once he got back into my tank yesterday, Some bite marks are still imbedded in its soft skin

hey catfishlover, they are used as human food yes.
by the way, almost any fish here is used for food.
piranhas for example, it makes good soups.
the TSNs are great for some preparations, such as moquecas (cooked with onion, garlic, some herbs, pepper, dende oil and salt).
I don't know the taste of the RTC, but I think it might be very good. Gigas has a nice meat too.

sweet! thanks for the heads up with the insight you guys! and you guys can just call me by my name...its Christian =]
