Rtc & Snc tank mates?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry just saw the post about 900 gallon. Isn't there a smaller tank size with different deminsions that would work? Like 8ft tank by 4ft wide?

4 ft wide and 10 ft long is probably not too far off

this should put things into perspective for you

Filter is a 70 gallon clear water and 70ex whisper filter. Think that's the filters names. And blood worms is all I feed my fish.

That's fish is huge and I saw that episode on animal planet. Fish usually stay smaller in aquariums then in wild thou correct? For the most part right?

i want you to understand that i DID have an RTC. i was flamed on this forum for having her, i think they went about it wrong, but i learned the hard way that they were right.

and now i own an 800 gallon aquarium (10' x 4' footprint) and i'm still hestitant about getting another RTC. i love them, and their personalities but i never want to put another fish through what i did to Lucy (not entirely my fault, but i'll take the blame because the other person responsible left her in a situation that i couldn't change and he knew it).

Large catfish are a lesson most people learn the hard way because they look so cute and most lfs will sell them to anyone with cash (or credit)

I know I learned this lesson the hard way for sure even though I did end up re-homing my RTC in the end

Yes fish that are in aquaria dont get as big as those in the wild but that RTC is probably over 4.5ft but plan 3.5ft-4ft for your RTC and 2ft-2.5ft for the TSN and if the PAngasius doesnt get eaten once it gets into proper filtration and given a better diet(just bloodworms and those two filters is why your pangasius is as big as it is) it'll get to 18"-20" but because of the small volume+Poor water+Poor Diet=Stunted pangasius

How large is your 800 gallon and what's the cost of a tank setup that large. And is that something that can be made at home? And whats a realistic price on a tank. Preferably not the cost of a new one at a pet shop. I have a good income but still think I am over my head?

Ok what's a better diet for my fish. As what's a gold filtration? I admit to being a noob compared to almost everyone on this site. So 2 70 gallon filters isn't good enough? P.s. I Will do whatever is needed to keep this rtc. Maybe a very big investment and I may be in for a very big eye opener but I'll give it a shot.
