My South American red Ceibal has successfully breed with my female Central American convict cichlids. The fry are now at an inch long. I will be testing to see if they are fertile.

A little place called C At Hell
Will there be no fry if the pair is from the same Subfamily?

Green Terror x Festae? Both are cichlasamatinae subfamily, but different genus.

That's no problem, I started taking pictures with my iPad because was easier to upload but the pictures suck. But yes I have central x South American hybrid fry. Whether they are fertile or not is yet to be determined. Also the similarities within these two species almost points to a close common ancestor maybe starting in South America but moved up and evolved as it took on different habitats turning from Ceibal to convict.
