The one good guy anywhere close to me (1 hour drive) shut down. It sucks, he was super cool and had neat stuff every time I was in there. He was in business 23 years and finally retired. I am happy for him but at the same time selfish.
 
Seems like a trend around the world, even over here a couple of stores i know closed down due to greedy landlords doubling rent...

very sad.. i went through that here too.. it was so nice to have local fishkeepers lfs store to share things with.. not the same in other big stores.
 
jeesh thats horrible. The lfs i go to is about 15 mins away and i dont think it will ever close. Everyone goes there and they are super popular
 
Wow... which lfs? I just went into Concepts the other day. Really upsetting. Their shutting down 50% of their freshwater section. Just finished yesterday. Tanks are now empty. Even more so they are keeping south american cichlids with african cichlids. IN THE SAME TANK! Very pissed at the store think I'm gonna have to switch with Connies except now its a 40min drive instead of a 20min drive. Oh and Concord Aquarium is moving from Concord to over by Oakland which is WAY out of my reach :(. But on the bright side DOUBLING their selection :). Wouldn't be surprised if they changed their name too...
