saltwater newbie attempting a 55 gallon reef

Thanks guys! Mr.Reef, congrats on your newly acquired MOD status.

I threw together a quick vid last night, but TBH I'm not all that happy with how it looks. I need a nicer video camera because this one just doesn't capture the colors quite right. Shooting this vid also made me realize that this tank is in dire need of more corals and fish. I hope to rectify that situation very soon. Anyways, here is the vid.....

Any comments/suggestions on how my corals and the tank look healthwise or other would be appreciated.

Id say its a good start...it just needs time. The big thing about reefs is that they DO need time, and what you need to do is provide a nuturing, balanced environment for them until they can reach their full potential. Then its just fragging, and expanding sometimes.

Its really easy to use. Once you get the footage uploaded to your hard drive its mostly just a lot of drag and drop. I would recommend Adobe Premiere for more complicated projects, but for quiclk little stuff WMM works fine.

only thing about wmm is that my digi cam makes movies in .mov format and wmm does comply with that for some reason. I could convert it somehow, but thats just too much

I decided to move my GSP last night to see if its location had anything to do with the polyps rarely coming out. Sure enough a few hours later they were out in full bloom. They must've been unhappy with the strength and/or direction of water flow hitting them before.

Here are some pics with just the blue actinic lights on. I got a couple shots looking down from above the tank which I don't think I've done before, thought they looked kinda cool....
