Did you learn that in Collage?

No, i just looked at the facts before i stated anything. ;)

I hope you will do the same in the future.

They did mention at the synposium about the fact that some rays were found with sand and silt in their digestive system. This could be a symbiotic relationship, much like how birds will eat clay and grits in order to aid in digestion.

Perhaps these sharp, non-ray safe sands are being ingested by certain species that are more likely to do such a thing (insectivorous retic/orbignyi) but are not ingested by the larger more piscivorous species like Motoros and Castexi..

Therefor the sand on the disc is less the issue, but rather damaging the inside lining of the digestive tract...

just a thought..

You might want to re-check your facts... I would recommend a College level dictionary.

Factors? Hmmm. Are you a teacher of some sort?

Thats one of the first things you learn at collage anyway.

Really, my guess is that you are a collage teacher. Am i right?

Ok ok, back on track people......

Miles are you saying that perhaps different rays have varying degrees of adaptability in terms of their digestive system to various sands?
