oh and managrove jack u think geting tank mates for a jar is hard try a jack garanteed they will be killed

I know. ive owned 2 in my time. both of them mean as f***. my mate had one too even worse

i had one killed every thing in the tank from sleepy cod murry cod and striped gudgeon which are mean as f**k then whe i separated him put it in my my late 15 gallon tank lol he smashed it and went on the floor and dried up was so pissed when i got home

putting them with other fish is a real no-no. Of the few that I've seen in successful community tanks, the jack was ALWAYS the smallest one in the tank and I'm guessing was the last fish to be introduced. I managed to keep one of mine with my longtoms for a while but that wasn't without its dramas

jacks sound daft aggressive but a good challenge fish , Yeah think ill stick to aro's , catfish and cichlids I know where im up to then lol

good choice
there like the ausssie goliath tiger fish

If you keep them on their own you won't have problems. It really is a shame that they're generally to aggressive for tankmates. A school of them in a big tank would look awesome. But in reality it just wont work.

not to rattle any cages here, but a mangrove jack in a pond with a full estuary style landscaping setup would look awesome IMO. But that would only bring you back to the fact that you can't keep anything else with it
