Are you not the one that set up the tank and created the trap?

The trap? Oh yes I built that so my arapaima would just swim into that one little rock wedge and drown. It was one of those things where you just say... **** happens

Anyways.... hows the fish doing now? is it in the 10g?

Raise the temp and add salt.

alot of the 3"+- silvers i have had have rested on the bottom from time to time...they did it more with egg sacks, but it isn't uncommon...even my 10" aro stayed on the bottom till it was 15-17" after it jumpped came up to eat and then back to its spot...aslong as you get it in a tank with good filtration it should come around...i never used meds on my aros just heat and salt...

not saying its right long term but it is do-able for a while. at work we had someone drop off an african cichlid covered in fungus. We couldnt put it in with our other fish because of risk of transfer so it lived in a 5 gallon pail with heat and a small filter until it recovered. Make sure it has heat, get a cheap submersible filter and make sure you keep the water clean. Honestly, a small aro temporarily (by that i mean like a few days to a week) in a bucket is really no different that a big aro in a pond. i think it was good of you to at least try to save it and hope it grows big for you.

by the way, the african cichlid is now living happily in our main tanks after making a full recovery.

So with your lack of research before buying such fish you provided a sitsuation in which the fish could die.

SO YES, THIS FISH DIED BECAUSE OF YOU, IT WAS YOUR FAULT.

Really? Your going to blame him for the fishes action? Thats like someone blaming you for them doing drugs. Get ****en over yourself.

Any updates regarding the arowana, hoping to hear it is in the 10g tank at least.

Or maybe like someone keeping a silver aro in a tank without a secure top or even no top. If the aro jumps and dies it is the keepers fault, no matter what the actions of the fish. This A. gigas was bought on an impulse with absolutely no research being done whatsoever. So yes it is the keepers fault when the gigas ended up dead.

WTF does your analogy supposed to prove? The person doing drugs has a choice the fish does not even have the capacity to even make a choice. :duh: C'mon you can do better then that, can't ya?

why do you always gatta be a buzz kill, I think he did a very nice thing, and if he saves its life then whos complaining? it wasnt any better off at the tank at the store so give him some credit. I woulda done the exact same thing
I agree. Thats why i dislike MFK. Because people think theyre big shots because they have a few thousand posts. They always troll and act like they know everything. What your saying is true but you dont have to act like sucha snob. Not a good look.

Well good luck with the aro man!
